Amy Lou Creative Studio, Napier
is built around the belief that creativity doesn’t need to be inherited, intimidating, polished, or productive to be worthwhile.
This studio sits intentionally between professional design work and hands-on creative experiences. It’s graphic design, illustration, workshops, clubs, and community events living under one roof. Not as separate offerings, but as connected ways of helping people engage with creativity in a way that actually fits real life.
Amy Lou Creative Studio, Napier is designed to be flexible, human, and responsive. Less “creative agency”, more creative space.
Hi, I’m Amy
I’m a graphic designer by trade, an illustrator by practice, and someone who has always been drawn to creating spaces where people feel comfortable trying things out.
Amy Lou Creative started in 2020 and has evolved steadily since then. What began as a design-led studio has grown into something broader, because forcing everything into a single lane never really made sense.
Over time, it became clear that the common thread in all my work isn’t the output. It’s the experience.
Whether I’m designing for a client, running a workshop, or hosting an event, my role is often the same: making creativity feel approachable, doable, and worth showing up for.
What This Studio Does Now
Amy Lou Creative is a multi-disciplinary creative hub. The work shifts depending on projects, seasons, and community needs, but it generally falls into three connected areas.
Design & Illustration
Graphic design, branding, layout, and illustration projects for individuals, small businesses, and organisations. This includes custom illustration work such as maps and timelines. The focus is on clarity, usability, and personality, not trends for the sake of it.
Workshops, Clubs & Creative Sessions
Hands-on creative sessions designed for people who want to make things without pressure. These include one-off workshops and ongoing clubs like Creative Pages Club. The emphasis is on process, experimentation, and enjoyment, not perfect results.
Events & Creative Experiences
Community-focused events such as the Bead Bar and Craft Swap, created to make creativity social, accessible, and low-pressure. These experiences are about connection just as much as making something to take home.
The Philosophy Behind It
Creativity is often treated like a skill you either have or don’t, or something that only counts if it leads to a finished product.
Amy Lou Creative operates differently. Here;
You don’t need experience to take part
You don’t need a clear outcome before you begin
You don’t need to commit to one creative identity
Creativity is allowed to be exploratory, unfinished, and changeable. The studio is intentionally built to hold that.
Where to From Here?
Amy Lou Creative Studio, Napier, isn’t about pushing people into services. It’s about creating space for ideas, projects, and experiences to take shape.
If something here resonates, you’re welcome to get in touch, attend an event, or simply keep an eye on what’s unfolding next.
No pressure. No hard sell. Just an open door.
